The Cardiac Rehab Program is a specifically designed program that uses monitored exercise, education, and fitness training to reduce the risk of further heart problems. A participant must have a written referral from a physician. The program is staffed by a Registered Nurse, an Exercise Physiologist and a Certified Nursing Assistant. A local physician serves as the Medical Director for the program. There is a Registered Dietitian available for individual diet counseling to assist participants in meeting their nutritional needs through healthy eating habits. The Exercise Physiologist designs an individualized cardiovascular exercise program for each participant.
Our goals for our clients include improving functional status, reducing mortality, improving quality of life and increasing understanding of heart disease prevention and treatment. The department is open for exercise each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
