SHIRLEY M. GREENE
Shirley Means Greene, retired educator and health care professional, has joined the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation board.
With an undergraduate degree in economics from Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, N.C. and a master's degree in elementary education from Temple University, Philadelphia, she brings a wide range of experiences to the board: teacher, teacher-trainer, job placement counselor, cancer control director, cancer program vice-president, training and development director, fundraiser, mother and grandmother. She retired from the American Cancer Society, Atlanta, GA. as National Director of Cancer Control Training and Development.
Most recently, Greene was selected to the Fairfield County School District’s “Hall of Fame.”
Born and raised in the Blair area of Fairfield County, Greene graduated from McCrorey-Liston School. “I contribute my success to the commitment and dedication of my schoolteachers and administrators at McCrorey-Liston. And equally important, I learned to love and respect people from my loving family,” expressed Shirley.
“We are pleased to welcome Shirley to our board. As an active volunteer in the community, she will serve as an ambassador for our foundation board and the hospital”, said Mike Quinn, foundation board president.
